Landscape architecture straddles the interface between the cultural and natural worlds, addressing design issues inherent in a range of typologies and scales, from specific sites to global systems. Offering a two- and three-year degree option, the Master of Landscape Architecture provides a rich context for you to learn the discipline alongside a community engaged in a diverse range of creative and critical practices. Whether working in the field, the CAD Lab, the Model Shop or on their own laptops, students are challenged to think critically and develop self-reliant design processes. Studio work is complemented by the study of drawing, history, theory, ecology, cultural geography, plants and technology. Landscape Architecture students graduate with the versatility and self-confidence to work in a wide range of land- and systems-based design fields, pursuing interests they've typically begun to explore as graduate students.

That means a change in one place is reflected everywhere. So, as changes occur, you can spend more time designing and less time manually updating drawings. The process of Building Information Modeling gives you the power to optimize your designs. Automatically generate schedules and reports. Calculate construction costs and material takeoffs. Easily collaborate and share files with anyone, anywhere. And project sharing enables your entire team to work on the same Vectorworks file concurrently, so they can be more efficient on every project.
Apps have become an integral part of design and architecture. Now rather than reaching for a ruler, architects can quickly calculate dimensions by pulling out their smartphone. Accurate site analysis helps determine what hazards or challenges the landscape might present and what you can accomplish in your design. It can help you identify strengths and weaknesses of the existing space and plan how to optimize them through your design.

Landscape architects shape the world around us through analysis, planning, design and management of the natural and built environment. Their work involves conceptual and detailed design of environments ranging from streetscapes to parks and playgrounds, created wetlands and restored river systems, transit solutions and tourism strategies, private backyards to planning new suburbs and even cities. Landscape architecture attracts individuals with wide-ranging interests in the arts and sciences, many with backgrounds in design, visual arts, history, and the natural and social sciences. Landscape architects draw on their knowledge of landscape aesthetics, environmental design, analytical and problem solving skills, technical capabilities, as well as professional practice and management skills to create spaces that improve amenities, add beauty, support the environment and the economy, and increase social health, safety and welfare. By placing emphasis on physical form, the context and existing condition of the place, prioritizing the visual, the tangible, and the aesthetic, as well as framing the park within a system, Olmsted created timeless and iconic landscapes. In doing so, he also helped to define the practice in North America.
