The project began with the removal of the old parking lot. With the asphalt removed, construction then proceeded on to laying the concrete foundation. Due to the irrigation needs of the greenhouse, special pipes were placed in the concrete before it hardened to provide drainage for the daily watering activities. A support structure was also constructed adjacent to the greenhouse. It contains a classroom, labs for research, and an office space for graduate students. The project was completed on time and this was only possible because of the close collaboration of CSU employees and the outside contractors who worked on the project.
